Project owners can set strategic priorities by reading this map early.

2) Sustainability and Embodied Carbon
The first agenda axis is climate and sustainability. Embodied carbon sits alongside operational energy efficiency at the centre of project decisions. Preserving existing stock instead of demolition-rebuild is the strongest carbon reduction strategy. Low-carbon materials, EPD-certified products, and traditional lime mortar serve both compatibility and environmental performance in restoration.

3) Adaptive Reuse and Existing Stock
The second axis is giving existing buildings new functions. Adaptive reuse covers converting industrial heritage, inns, mansions, and Republic-era buildings to hotels, offices, or cultural centres.
