Project Summary
Within the scope of Bahçeşehir Juniper Houses, the implementation of the existing residential structure was carried out by Bike Architecture. The work was addressed together with the applications in the interior and exterior spaces; the architectural language of the building was preserved while materials and details were applied on site.
Externally, natural stone cladding was applied to the facades and the integrity of the facade was reinforced through this material. The stone cladding was detailed in harmony with the window and door openings; a balanced and simple appearance was achieved on the building envelope. On facades related to open areas, the transitions between stone surfaces and joinery were resolved in a controlled manner.
Internally, the fireplace wall in the living area was treated with natural stone cladding and designed as the focal point of the space. A simple and neutral language was adopted for the floor, wall and ceiling surfaces; the effective distribution of natural light within the space was aimed for.
During the implementation process, visual and spatial continuity between the interior and exterior was observed; openings and transitions in areas related to the garden were prioritised. The project was completed in 2024 as a work reflecting Bike Architecture’s experience in residential implementation.
