Project Summary
This project in Minsk, Belarus was addressed as a mixed-use centre combining office and residential functions. The work covers an architectural project process including the mass layout of the building groups, the design of open areas and the integrated design of the architectural language.
In the project, multiple building masses were addressed together; open areas, pedestrian axes and shared use areas were defined between the masses. High-rise blocks were linked to the public areas created at ground level; the balance between building and open area was prioritised. In the layout, spatial continuity was aimed for through the distances and orientations between the masses.
In the facade design, vertical emphasis and repeating opening patterns stand out. The combination of office and residential functions was addressed with a simple and contemporary architectural approach in the facade language. Mass movements and floor lines were used to create an architectural rhythm on different facade orientations.
Open area arrangements were planned through green areas and shared use zones connecting the building groups. At the site plan scale, the relationship of the buildings with their environment and the area organisation were addressed with an integrated view. Day and night visualisations were prepared to show the project’s spatial perception at different times.
The project was developed by Bike Architecture as an architectural project covering the architectural design and visualisation work prepared for Belarus Minsk Office and Life Centre.
