Project Summary
Architectural project work for Büyükada Nizam Mosque was prepared by Bike Architecture. The work covers an architectural project process addressing the mosque’s massing, facade design and spatial relationship with its immediate surroundings.
In the project, the building mass was developed as a compact, legible form. A simple architectural language was adopted for the facades; window openings, floor lines and eaves details were handled within a balanced composition. The corner and entrance areas of the building were emphasised to strengthen the perception of the mass.
The presentation sheets and three-dimensional visualisations in the images were prepared to show the building from different viewpoints and its relationship with the environment. The open areas around the mosque were treated to form a whole with the building; pedestrian access and the building’s relationship with its surroundings were considered within the project scope.
During the architectural design process, a simple and controlled approach appropriate to the scale of a religious building was adopted; mass, facade and open area relationships were addressed together. The project was developed by Bike Architecture as an architectural project covering the architectural design and presentation work prepared for Büyükada Nizam Mosque.
