Sancaktepe – 18 March Çanakkale Panorama Museum Design and Site Supervision

Architectural design and site supervision services were carried out for the 18 March Çanakkale Panorama Museum in Sancaktepe district. The work covers all processes from the architectural design phase of the museum building through to the implementation stage.

In the design phase, the museum’s layout, entrance and reception areas, exhibition volumes, circulation axes and open area relationships were addressed in an integrated way. In line with the site plan, the position of the building mass within the plot, landscape design, pedestrian and vehicle access and open area uses were designed.

In the facade design, a simple, legible architectural language that emphasises the public character of the museum was adopted; the entrance facade was designed to strengthen visitor orientation. The mass organisation was arranged to preserve a single-building perception; its spatial relationship with the surroundings was evaluated through perspective drawings.

Through perspective studies, the perception of the building from different angles, the open area–building relationship and the visitor experience were analysed in advance. These studies were used as a reference both to clarify design decisions and to guide the implementation process.

Within the scope of site supervision, the implementation process was monitored with compliance to the approved architectural projects as the basis. During construction, the conformity of the work to the project decisions was checked and the alignment between site implementation and the projects was evaluated from a technical standpoint. Where necessary, project–implementation coordination was provided to ensure the process proceeded in a sound manner.

This work was carried out as a comprehensive project process that combines the architectural design of Sancaktepe – 18 March Çanakkale Panorama Museum with site supervision of the construction process, based on design and implementation integrity.
