Project Summary
Survey, restitution and restoration projects for the Historic Ali Kemal Bey Mansion in Eyüp were prepared by Bike Architecture. The work covers documentation of the existing state of the structure and the design of architectural decisions for its conservation.
In the survey phase, the basement, ground and upper floors of the structure were addressed separately; the facades, rear garden area and interior spaces were examined on site. The existing mass, floor organisation, window and door openings and facade proportions were documented through measurements and photographs and transferred to the survey drawings.
In the restitution studies, assessments regarding the past state of the structure were made on the basis of existing structural traces and spatial organisation; floor layout, facade elements and opening placements were addressed in the restitution projects. Data relating to the architectural character of the structure were reflected in the drawings at this stage.
In the restoration projects, architectural interventions for the conservation of the structure were defined; facade surfaces, joinery, interior elements and the building surroundings were designed in line with restoration decisions. The relationship of the structure with the street and rear garden was addressed with a holistic approach.
The project was created by Bike Architecture as a comprehensive project set covering the survey, restitution and restoration phases prepared for the Historic Ali Kemal Bey Mansion in Eyüp.
