Istanbul Eyüp Children's Science Club Design and Project Design

Educational Buildings – Architectural Design and Project Design

Project Summary

Architectural design and project design for the Children's Science Club in Eyüp, Istanbul were prepared by Bike Architecture. The project covers an architectural project process including the massing, plan organisation and facade design of an education-focused building.

In the design process, the building’s layout decisions were addressed at the site plan scale; the relationships between open areas, circulation axes and the building mass were planned. The building mass was shaped taking into account parcel boundaries and its relationship with the environment.

In the plan solutions, spaces allocated to different functions were considered within an integrated organisation; spatial continuity for circulation areas and shared uses was prioritised. Floor plans and sections were designed to meet the functional needs of the building.

In the facade design, a dynamic architectural language was adopted with coloured surfaces and varying opening ratios. Facade elements were arranged to strengthen the perception of the mass; the building’s visual relationship with the outdoor space was supported by three-dimensional visualisations.

Within the scope of the project design process, the architectural concept, plans, sections, facades and three-dimensional images were addressed as a whole; presentation sheets and catalogue work were prepared. The work was carried out by Bike Architecture as a comprehensive project covering the architectural design and project design process for the Children's Science Club in Eyüp, Istanbul.
