Catholic Mıhitaryan Church and School Restoration Project and Implementation

Cultural Heritage – Restoration Project and Implementation

Project Summary

The preparation of the restoration project and restoration implementation works for the Catholic Mıhitaryan Church and School were carried out by Bike Architecture. The work covers documentation of the existing state of the structures, production of restoration projects and site implementation processes.

Within the scope of the restoration project, the mass characteristics, facade layouts, opening proportions and architectural details of the structures were addressed in line with existing state data. Facade surfaces, window and door openings, floor cornices and roof systems were evaluated during the project process. Drawings and sheets were prepared to support restoration decisions.

During the implementation process, maintenance and repair works were carried out on the roof elements; roof surfaces and tile coverings were addressed with on-site interventions. Scaffolding was erected on the facades to enable surface regulation and repair of architectural elements. In the interior spaces, applications were carried out for wall, floor and opening elements.

Throughout the restoration implementations, the aim was to preserve the architectural integrity of the structures; material and detail solutions were transferred to the site in line with project decisions. The work addressing both the church and school structures together was carried out with a holistic restoration approach in which project and implementation processes were conducted in parallel.

The work was conducted by Bike Architecture as a comprehensive process covering the preparation of the restoration project and restoration implementation works for the Catholic Mıhitaryan Church and School.
