Tekirdağ Muratlı Mass Housing Project Design

Residential – Architectural Project Design

Project Summary

The mass housing project planned for Tekirdağ Muratlı was addressed within the framework of an integrated settlement layout consisting of multiple residential blocks. The project was developed to cover the positioning of the building masses on the land, open area–building relationships and the creation of spatial organisation at the development scale.

In the project design process, the heights and mass proportions of the residential blocks were designed to form a balanced silhouette with each other; the distances and orientations between the blocks were planned to support open area continuity. Pedestrian circulation, vehicle access and shared use areas within the development were separated so as not to interrupt each other.

In the prepared site plan, the green areas, inner courtyards and open common areas defined around the residential blocks were addressed to strengthen the integrated spatial character of the development. Through perspective studies, the visual relationship of the buildings with their environment, the mass scale and the layout were evaluated in three dimensions.

The project was completed so as to provide an architectural framework that will form the basis for implementation, addressing together the architectural identity of the residential blocks, the open areas organised at the development scale and the access relationships.
