Cultural Heritage – Site Supervision in Repair and Restoration Works

Project Summary

Site supervision services were provided for the repair and restoration works of Defterdar Tahir Efendi Mosque in Üsküdar. The work covers the monitoring and supervision of site processes in order to ensure that restoration implementations proceed in accordance with project decisions.

During the site process, applications to the facades, roof covering, wall masonry and architectural elements of the structure were monitored on site. Stone and brick surfaces, arches, openings and interventions relating to the minaret were controlled on the basis of preserving the existing architectural character. Materials and workmanship used in the implementation stages were evaluated in line with the prepared restoration projects.

The aim was to ensure that interventions during the repair process were carried out without compromising the original architectural integrity of the structure; site works were supervised within the framework of project, detail and technical specifications. The correctness of the implementations was observed through comparisons with historical photographs and existing state data.

The work was completed within the scope of site supervision aimed at ensuring implementation quality and compliance with project decisions during the restoration process of Defterdar Tahir Efendi Mosque.
